Tea is the liquid base, versus water. It's rather like soup.
Porridge or rice gruel/cereal is a type of 'soup.' Instead of cooking in water or broth/stock, brew some tea and use that instead of water. The possibilities are endless. Green tea/peppermint gruel? Raspberry zinger gruel? Enchanted Earl Grey gruel? I'm not sure what kind of tea you like. The tea infuses tons of flavour. Just use twice the amount of bags. Maybe Fennel/Rooibos gruel? Chai rice cereal? Cammomile Vanilla gruel?
