Just wanted to give a short update, hoping it might encourage someone.

I bought the First Year IBS book (even though I've had IBS-D symptoms for about 20 years) and have been reading it.

One of the first major changes I made was using the lowest dose Acacia Tummy Fiber and that has made a world of difference for me. How that little bit of powder can change so much is mind-boggling. I still would like to understand the science of it better.

I've been applying other suggestions made in the book, for example pre-restaurant eating preparations (soluble fiber and tea before going out).

I found peppermint tea gives me heartburn but I LOVE fennel tea!

Went camping a couple of weekends ago and when my dear husband made pancakes fried in bacon grease ( ) I paid for it but at least I understood why and had tea and other things along to soothe my stomach fairly quickly.

Maybe one change doesn't make ALL things better, but a series of small things can help in the long run.

I should change my user name to StillLearning!
