You can absolutely get lots of fresh fruits and veggies, and a nutritious diet overall, while keeping your IBS stable. For most folks this issue is all about the insoluble fiber.

With fresh fruits and veggies, it's a matter of HOW you eat them - peel, skin, remove seeds, hulls, chop, and either blend or cook until very tender. This will reduce and then mechanically break down the insoluble fiber before you even eat it.

Then, have these insoluble fiber foods with a soluble fiber foundation. Think fresh fruit smoothie blended very smooth with bananas in there as well as the trickier fruits (berries, pineapple, stone fruits), and eat it after a bowl of rice cereal.

Follow the same strategy with all kinds of fresh veggies - make a cooked and pureed soup, pasta sauce, or dip, and make sure you serve with your soluble fiber safe foods like potatoes, rice, noodles.

You can get plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, and still keep your IBS stable.
