(For Broads Only)       06/13/04 05:48 PM Edit Reply Quote Vicam Reged: 02/24/04 Posts: 1955 Loc: Ontario, Canada Hey Bev, Yuck, I feel for you, I used to get UTIs all the time (starting at age 9), and I remember my first one was so bad I wouldn't stop crying and yelling, my mom end up making me an alcoholic "brown cow" just to shut me up and calm me down! I have found that drinking more water really helps, I drastically increased my water intake about three years ago when I started working in call centres (I found 8 hours of constant talking really drying on the throat) and I stopped getting the UTIs as much. But I drink a lot of water. Can't really estimate how much per day, but I got through 6 18L bottles of water in a month, and I'm the only one who drinks it! Also, obviously cranberry juice helps too I noticed you mentioned you didnt' like Dove and Ivory, I'm the same way, I love Zest and Lever 2000 but they're too harsh. This might sound silly, but I just keep two bars in the shower, one for the sensitive part and the one I like for the rest of me! One other thing I thought of, and I don't know if this would help, but what about putting some epsom salts in the bath? This is a little personal, but I had to have a surgery quite a few years ago called a hymenectomy (hopefully you can guess what it is) and they recommended daily baths with epsom salts to prevent infection, so you would think it would work for UTIs too...but I'm just assuming.
