At the moment, I'm still working for the optometrist but I am hoping to change that in the near future. In our state, the law says that each patient is legally allowed to grow 12 plants. If you are unable/unwilling to grow your own, you can assign a caregiver. So, lets say you were a patient and needed medication but can't grow your own for whatever reason. You would name me your caregiver, we have to register that with the state and than I am allowed to grow your plants for you for a service fee. Each patient/caregiver can add up to five other people as there own patients.
The law is very new here and there are no provisions for dispensaries like you see in CA. However, me and several others have formed a type of co-op. We also plan on opening a club house of sorts if you will. We are putting together the business plan right now and plan to meet with some city officials in the next couple of weeks.
Its been a fun journey for me. I admit to having used marijuana before it was legal but I have never grown it before or even knew anyone who did. I can say that I have successfully grown and harvested my first crop of medical marijuana. There is a lot to learn about the process and it can be very tricky but its a great hobby and very relaxing for me.
