I have had IBS for almost 20 years (I'm turning 29 this year)! I had a baby last year and my IBS all but vanished.... but..... when I went back on the birth control pill (only 2 weeks ago), my symptoms immediately returned. IBS-D with upwards of 12 trips to the bathroom per day! Upon speaking with the pharmacist, we determined that my IBS was likely exacerbated by hormones (namely the pill). I have since stopped taking the pill and my IBS mysteriously disappeared again. After all those tests over so many years, could it have been the pill that was making me run (literally) to the bathroom? In all likelihood - YES! Just wanted to share this as maybe it'll help others out there.
