At first after my hysterectomy, I was on a pill called Estropipate. But after three months, I started having some problems with my IBS again and anxiety...so they tried me on an estrogen patch. That didn't work for me either. So then I tried the bio-identical creams...didn't really notice any improvement with those either.
I have been completely HRT free since June of last year and feel so much better off HRT than on. I never really had any menopausal symptoms. Both my GP and my GYN say that I can go without it if that is best for me. They are supportive. Now, though, I am starting to have some thyroid issues. I am thinking that if they get my thyroid under control that it may help my IBS and anxiety. Keeping my fingers crossed.
I've learned that you don't HAVE to take HRT.
