It's not really a horror story but I am allergic to the flu shot. I had massive hives and swelling of the throat, although I could still breathe OK, so no visit to the ER. I called the doctor and they told me to take a large dose of Benedryl and continue on it for several days. When you have this reaction you cannot ever take the shot again, so I'm told. Guess I have to use plenty of hand sanitizer in the winter. I have had the flu before as well. It is debilitating and took about two weeks to really get over it.
I say try the shot though because allegic reactions are uncommon. It didn't bother my stomach at all and believe me even most things on Heather's diet bother my stomach.
