This is a great post! I've been so, so low (found out my hearing loss is worse than I realized - so incredibly grateful to God for great hearing aids). Fri & Sat, I was reading the Psalms and I found this verse and it just struck me, "Lord, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I." It became a prayer for me and really helped me get through the days. Until I read that verse, I hadn't realized just how low I was... it's a wee bit better today but some struggles ahead. I'm going to print out your post - Spurgeon really captured the essence of "low" and this will remind me Who's in control - the Lifter of my head! BTW, I love Spurgeon's writings - would love to have an email devotional - is there a web site for this, or does your dh do this on his own?
