My daughter (who has Trisomy 18) recently turned 7 years old and continues to defy medical odds. My son (who has autism) is now in the 6th grade. He is very functional, but school is getting tough for him (do you remember when you were in the 6th grade? I remember it being a tough year). Sometimes I think it is special that both my children are disabled. It has its challenges but the rewards are special too. I've attended several events of Special Olympics and have noticed that many of these children are very loving and quite friendly. Some of them are really good athletes. -- Hope everyone is sticking to your diets and enjoying life.
