Hullo! Sounds like we're in the same boat - I get really bad razor burn and ingrown hairs. I get the bumps all over my legs though, and they get huge and red and hard and look infected!! My doctor told me I wasn't allowed to shave anymore, so I started waxing. Honestly, I know it hurts 'cause you've only done it a few times but it really does get easier. Plus, it takes a few times for all your hairs to be at the same length so after a few times, they will be and then they'll all come out at once and you should be able to go way longer without any regrowth. If you thought waxing was painful, you might not like this idea 'cause I find it hurts a bit more but have you ever used an epilator? I have one now because it is so much cheaper than always waxing, but it does take longer and it breaks some hairs so waxing is better.
What about electrolysis? I'm not sure if you can have it whilst pregnant, though... Maybe not. But after a few sessions of that, you should get way less regrowth and eventually the hairs should not come back at all. It is expensive, though..
I would go with waxing, if I were you. This is what I would suggest: Get a product called Tendskin (I think) which comes in a blue bottle, ask a local salon for it.. or something like it. I have another one now, but I called remember what it is called, but it rolls on like deodorant. Anywho, put that on your skin before you go get waxed. Have them use baby powder on your skin before they wax you. After you get home, take off any clothing that could rub against you to prevent it from getting irritated. Don't take a hot shower. Put cold compresses against your skin where you have been waxed to take the redness away. Do this a few times before you go to bed. Get teatree oil or sensitive skin lotion and put it on your skin before you go to bed. In the morning, reapply the TendSkin or whatever brand of stuff you get. Don't rub or soap your skin in the shower. Reapply lotion or teatree as often as you like. You should put the TendSkin stuff on twice a day if you have the razon burn. Once it goes away, you can use it once a day. Use before you next wax or shave.
Good luck! I couldn't open the link 'cause I am at work and try to keep as few windows open as possible 'cause they are hard to close when somebody walks by, hee hee.
Good luck!! --Steph
