Question about inches versus pounds....

The good news is with karate and a new weight loss plan, I have lost about 6 pounds and 18 inches. I'm a little concerned that more inches than pounds are coming off. My diet consultants say that:
1. I have a tiny frame so one pound is going to show more inch reduction.
2. I am building lean muscle tissue so the weight is going to come off more slowly - that's why I'm seeing the inches come off, but not the weight.
3. Since I'm taking karate, the weight is going to come off faster after a while - once I slow down gaining muscle and that will help speed up my metabolism and help the weight come off better.

Still, the difference in inches and pounds concerns me. Is it due to their diet supplements and I'm losing water retention or something that will come back or does it make common sense?

Any thoughts?

P.S. I'm very pleased with myself - I'm eating much better IBS wise and it shows. I feel better - eating unprocessed, but still IBS safe foods has made a huge difference in my energy levels and my tummy stability.

It's SO hard sticking to a diet though!!! GRRRR!!!!
