Exercise question

Hi all, I have read these boards for a while but this is my first time posting. I am IBS-A but predominately D. The soluable fibre diet guidelines have helped stablize me a bit but I still feel abdominal pressure often. I was wondering if anyone knew if posture and/or ab muscle played a role in IBS? I have poor posture and as far as I can tell, weak ab muscles. I am unable to do much exercise if it involves using my ab muscles, even for balance. I am unable to sit or stand up straight for too long and am forced to lean forward (if I'm sitting) to rest my arms on the desk. This relieves the "tight" feeling in my stomach.

I have tried strengthening my abs but I'm not sure if this is contributing to my problems. This obviously causes more pressure on my stomach, worsening my IBS symptoms, but I don't know if it's necessary while my abs get stronger.

Any thoughts or help regarding this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
