god, i totally do the same thing. just reading what you wrote about the hoagie flashed me back to that horrible feeling. i've always had major shame issues about eating, and in college was very self-conscious in the dining hall, always worried someone would judge what i was eating. and eating alone is really hard. i got better at it in college - having reading to do helped. but i still get like that sometimes.
