Your BMR is 1429, so you were right on (or extremely close). Since you're active, you should multiply that by about 1.5 for just lifestyle and then add on what you exercise - so probably in the range of 2300-2500 cals a day for maintenance (work up to that though, obviously).

Seems like a lot, I know. But as I think Elizabeth mentioned eating more will speed up your metabolism, give you more energy for exercise and daily activities - and no, will not make you fat You may gain a little at first since you've been eating so little, but that will even out in the long run. Once you get up there you may feel comfortable at around 2200 or so though so you may chose to stay there. Everyone's a little different. HTH!
