New York City Ballet Workout

Several people have asked how I like the New York City Ballet workout, so I reckon it's deserving of its own thread.

I've done ballet for years, so I enjoy the ballet based exercises a lot. Depending on my mood, I either extend it with actual dancing (I have a big book called 'Classical Ballet Technique' for ballet teachers which has a lot of dance steps and suggestions for exercises in it) or with yoga. As I'm mainly using it as a cool-down from running or cycling right now, I generally go the yoga route.

I like the emphasis on grace and extension that ballet offers. I've always wished I could have been a dancer.

Anyway, the workout book is divided into sections on stretching, abs, legs, floor barre and centre (aka actual dancing). It's pretty fun, and I've found the exercises easy to pick up and remember. Plus, it features some rather sexy male dancers (and some mingers!) to gawp at, suggestions for music etc

My one quibble is that he says running is bad and addictive and makes you emaciated- that's so not true!
