Feeling too ill to exercise, and a bit down

My stomach problems have been pretty much constant since last Thursday. I've been in pain and feeling drained, despite sleeping well. I usually run two times a week with a club, and I've now missed last Thurday's session and Tuesday's session, and am not sure if I feel up to going tonight, either. I've only got in about 20 miles on my bicycle this week as well.

Do you guys reckon it's worth trying to run? I can ask the coach for a special easy session, and tell him my stomach is playing up. Is it worth trying to run through the pain, and will exercise relieve the pain I'm in now? I know it works like that for period pains (which I also suffer from badly).

Anyway, this is my first post on this board. I'm Jane, I live in Sussex, in the south of England, but I grew up in Chicago & Scotland. I'm a Phd student studying evolution, and I play the violin to relax. I exercise quite a bit usually- I cycle to work several days a week (round trip of 10-12 miles), run with a club and run or cycle on the weekends. I'm also trying to build flexibilty by doing the New York City Ballet Workout a couple of times a week. I'd like to be more graceful.

Jane
