Try to move around a bit to get rid of the gas (there are some yoga poses on this website designed for 'passing wind') and then sleep it off. And take your time getting to your new job... it would be far worse to have to call in sick after the fact. Wish i had weight-gaining ideas for you that didn't include ice cream or veal saltimbocca ;-> can you tolerate peanut butter? or rice krispie treats (made w/1 tsp canola oil)... i guess you'll have to be snacking alot. If you can tolerate Metamucil wafers, 2 of them are 120 cals. 5 g fat... don't know how much fiber you're taking but that would up your calorie intake...
