Kelly,

"Paralytic" means affected with paralysis, and "ileus" is an intestinal obstruction.

I looked up Oxycodone -- a pain killer -- and it says:

Quote:

Oxycodone works similarly to narcotic drugs like morphine and has similar pain-killing and addictive effects.

One hazard of taking oxycodone continuously for longer than several weeks is addiction. DO NOT STOP TAKING YOUR DRUG SUDDENLY. With the help of your doctor, work out a schedule for slowly lowering the amount of the drug you take by about 5-10% each day. Keep a written record of the dosage reduction schedule with you. These steps will make it much easier to become drug-free without developing distressing symptoms of drug withdrawal.

(Emphasis in original.)

Apparently, you can take a combination of acetaminophen and Oxycodone. It says:

Quote:

Together, these two drugs produce a rational combination that relieves pain better than acetaminophen alone but has less risk of side effects than the larger dose of oxycodone that would be needed if oxycodone were used alone.

I sure wouldn't think you'd need an antispasmodic with this drug!

Bev
