I used Yerba betonite clay I studied up on, that stopped my diarrhea despite increasing my soluble fiber use I'd been on for years. I believe it was food poisoning, and since I'm IBSd, I have a harder time stopping a zipping colon, even with white rice and protein. I didn't like Immodium, because it holds up what your GI track is flushing out (doesn't make healthy sense?), and made me just feel constipated with alot of gas still and bad heart burn. I like the idea of slowing down diarrhea AND absorbing the irritating substances. After 3 days, (was time enough for me and charcoal wasn't helping form stools or preventing excess gas that was irritating) I was feeling low in blood sugar and weak. Even though it refers to constipation below, it can act the same for diarrhea regulating, and did with me making me regular by 24 hrs, stopping the diarrhea and excess gas completely and producing a stool. Just drink the maximum amount of water in the instructions for constipation, and half the amount for diarrhea is the way I did it.

http://www.growingempowered.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/Bentonite-Clay.pdf "When mixed with water, bentonite clay swells up like a sponge, forming a highly porous substance that attracts and binds toxins into its open spaces. The clay behaves like FIBER in the body, providing bulk to stimulate the intestinal muscles to perform their digestive duties effectively. This greatly reduces constipation, and improves irritable bowel symptoms. Along with the toxins, the clay passes through your body, eliminating them as waste to improve your gastrointestinal health."
