And I am struggling to understand what this means in regards to IBS.
I had a comprehensive stool analysis done and it said that my bad bacteria count was extremely high (Ecoli and Strep in way more than usual numbers) and that they could find NO good bacteria at all. Not any.

Added to this is that they said I am not digesting meats and carbohydrates at all and that my pancreas may not be working properly and producing enzymes.

I am livid as this test cost me heaps and I actually saw a gastorenterlogist 2 years ago who told me that there was NO WAY digestive enzymes were helping me even though I knew they were. He said the only way to get them on a prescription is to have pancreatic cancer as people with that don't produce the enxymes to break down food.

Intensive probiotic therapy is recommended.

I was just wondering what this means exactly in regards to the IBS? The practitioner I am seeing seems to think that if Heather's diet works then I should stay on it but I should also start probiotic therapy right away and get my pancreas checked.

It is difficult to know how this affects the IBS, or if my inability tolerate meat etc..is simply because my pancreas is not making the enzymes to break it down.

I am taking soluble fibre and slippery elm powder a lot aswell and now probiotics and I hope that maybe one day when my pancreas starts working properly I will be able to maybe digest meat again.

What is weird though is that I live on carbs like mashed sweet potatoes and pumpkin and plain pasta and rice, and they don't upset me but apparently I am not even digesting them properly and they found high amounts of undigested carbs.

The practitioner said that my anaemia, brain fog and CFS and Fibromyalgia would all be linked to the gut and I've heard that before, and that because Seratonin is in the gut that would also affect me feeling down/panicky but once my gut health is restored things should clear up more. Also, I get most viruses going around because I guess my immunue system can't work properly at the moment with no good bacteria at all in there.

Is it possible though, to have all these issues and still have IBS? It's weird. I am not coeliac, but gluten senstive. Not lactose intolerant-but cannot tolerate any dairy at all and I cannot at all tolerate any fat.

presence of microscipic starch suggests pancreatic insufficiency or billary tree blockage??? And insufficent stomach hyddrochloric acid or pepsin production as undigested meat fibres were found.. Possible Carbohydrate maldigestion.

Absence of Lactobacilli and Bifidobacterium. Microbial imbalance.

Can these issues or bacteria masquerade as IBS as we know itt? And if so, does anyone know of anyone who has been able to kick the IBS symptoms once balance is restored?
