Some days I feel like a broken record on the whole glycemic index, "carbs are bad" topic, and it can make me so tired. This article is just great, and the timing is perfect.

I really, really wish researchers would focus more on disease rates associated to diets - instead, it's always about short-term weight loss. Why don't we read more about dietary characterstics of cultures that don't have the obesity epidemic of the US in the first place? Perhaps we should be eating as they do.

I also like the Dean Ornish research that has conclusively linked the actual reversal of heart disease and prostate cancer to a plant-based, low fat, vegan diet that is totally carb-based. That's about as anti-Atkins as is possible, and the health benefits are enormous. But that doesn't get too much press...
