??? Antibiotics & IBS (D)       08/15/07 05:47 PM Edit Reply Quote Strixowl Reged: 05/26/06 Posts: 41 Well I have to have a tooth pulled (Ouch!). Since the tooth is infected the Dentist wants me to take antibiotics for 3 days before the extraction and 3 days following. She wants me to get the prescription from my M.D. because of the IBS (D) and the tendency of antibiotics to destroy gut flora thus diarrehia. I've never had this type of problem when taking antibiotics, but I didn't have IBS either. Any suggestions, experiences, medical factoids or antibiotics that may not cause me problems?
