Steel cut oats       02/27/07 09:39 AM Edit Reply Quote Jeio Reged: 09/28/06 Posts: 482 Anyone tried steel cut oats/irish oatmeal? I tried them this morning. Normally I eat quick oats in the morning without any problem, but surprisingly, I was in pain after I ate those... I'm not sure if it's the oats, it might be something I ate yesterday, but I can't remember anything dangerous... Also, a lot of people say they find a difference in the flavor of these oats to the usual ones. I didn't see any of that... Maybe I just didn't prepare them right? What I did was, I soaked them in hot water overnight and then cooked for 10 minutes in the morning (to avoid cooking them for 30 minutes in the morning). Has anyone else noticed steel cut oats being less tollerable than rolled oats? Thanks --J Print     Remind Me     Notify Moderator
