I recently got a job and the interviewer took a week and a half to get back to me, as she had some difficulty contacting some of my references. I'm sure he will contact you after he gets back from holidays. If not you can always contact him then to follow up. I know how disheartening it can be to interview well and then be left waiting for the call back. Even if it doesn't happen it sounds like you gave a great interview and that is something for you to feel proud of!
