This is a very old recipe that I used to make a lot in the days when we ate ground beef and Crescent rolls. I loved this recipe! It's like the best cheeseburgers you've ever had. Now we have substitutes -- so I can have this recipe once again. Check it out:
"MEAT 'n CHEESE FOLDOVERS
1 lb. ground turkey 1/4 cup finely chopped onion 3/4 cup barbecue sauce 6 slices soy cheese (cheddar or American) 2 (8-oz.) cans Crescent rolls (reduced-fat if you can find it) 2 teaspons toasted sesame seeds
Brown "meat" and onion; stir in barbecue sauce and set aside. Heat oven to 375. Unroll crescent dough into four long rectanges on Pam-sprayed cookie sheet. Overlap long sides; firmly press perforations and edges to seal. Pat to form a 15"x13" rectangle. Spread "meat" mixture lengthwise, in a 4-inch wide strip, down center of dough to within 1 inch of ends. Top "meat" with cheese slices. Fold shorter sides of dough 1-inch over filling. Bring long sides of dough rectangle over filling, overlapping edges; pinch edge to seal. Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake at 375 for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Let stand 5 minutes.
6 servings.

Kree, I found the reduced-fat crescent rolls! Yaay. I just made these, and I sure have a happy tummy. What a treat -- I haven't had these in years.
Thanks Kree.
