Grilled Turkey Burgers
(Makes 4 servings)

This is my favorite burger because the cheese is baked right inside!

1 1/2 lbs ground turkey
1/2 cup swiss soy cheese slices, chopped into tiny squares
3 scallions, thinly sliced
1/4 cup dried breadcrumbs (may need to add more--make sure they're dairy-free)
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
2 cloves garlic, minced
salt and pepper, to season
olive oil, to oil grill (optional)

1. Preheat your grill to Medium heat.
2. In a bowl, combine the turkey and soy cheese with a fork.
3. Add the scallions, breadcrumbs, garlic, and mustard.
4. Season with salt and pepper.
5. Gently form turkey mixture into four patties, approximately 1 inch thick.
6. If you have trouble forming patties, you may need to add more breadcrumbs; it really depends on the amount of moisture that your meat contains.
7. Lightly oil grill with a little bit of olive oil (if you desire).
8. Grill patties until they are cooked through and a meat thermometer reads at least 160 degrees.
9. Serve burgers on buns (you can grill the buns if desired) with tomato, lettuce, pickles, or any other condiments of your choice!

Good one, Kree. I am SOOOO gonna make these! I'll bet the cheese inside the burger and the mustard keep the turkey from being too dry and tasteless. YEAH!

BTW, Kree, how well do these freeze? I would think they'd do okay. I can make a bunch of 'em, freeze them individually, then pop 'em on the grill as I'm doin' the frozen variety.

Oh yeah, Girlfriend! You done GOOOOOOD.

Yeah, it does make them a lot moister! This is one of the only burgers I make now... well, made, before it started to snow! I can't wait until it's finally grilling season in the NE again!

I've never tried freezing them, but that's an excellent idea. I don't see why it wouldn't work. What a great weeknight dinner idea!

I did it, I made my first dinner on my own. I followed this reciepe, subbing in onion powder and garlic powder which I guess were alright, and not using bread crumbs. I also used the foreman grill and made one Turkey burger, they came out great.
For a beginner do you know of any other easier reciepes I can start to make.

Where can you find or what brand are dairy-free bread crumbs?
