My 18-year-old sister-in-law is going away to college this fall, and I'm trying to put together a small cookbook for her. She can't have an oven, hotplate, toaster, toaster oven, etc. All she will have is a dorm fridge in her room and a community microwave. I have about 10 recipes (mostly salads, sandwiches, & snacks) so far. Does anyone have any ideas? She doesn't have IBS, so they can be anything. I don't know where else to ask, since this is the only recipe forum I'm on. Thanks in advance!

They make the mircowave rice in the bags also the mash poatoes, they even make cakes that you can mircowave. There a recipe in the index for cake for one that would work as well and be alot cheaper. hth

I completely forgot about Chocolate Cake for One! Thanks for reminding me! I might just have to have some of that myself.

hi have you tried googling 'recipes for students' ? there's loads on there two websites devoted to cooking for students, quick, easy and cheap meals one is www.yumyum.com I don't remember the other lol but googling brings up a load and then you could just copy and paste them into your book
Hope this helps, I'm sure everyone will flock to your sister in laws for a good meal hehee
