Thanks Mags,

I have missed it so much! Can't wait to try it.

Sweet relish????? I can't believe you use sweet relish. I just don't like it. I love dill relish though. Just had to add my comments and give you a little bit of a hard time. Looks good. I will have to try it WITH dill relish.

Ha! Actually I've never tried it. I just came across it and thought it sounded safe, so I figured what the heck. What kind is already prepared tartar made with anyway? Do they sell different types of relish - as in sweet/dill? I guess so, since you said, right? LOL I've never been a big relish type of person - I've only used hot dog relish, with the mustard.

Let me know how it turns out if you try it. I know in the pickle department I DESPISE sweet pickles - yuck! But, I love dill pickles.

And speaking of pickles - does anyone know how they are for the IBS anyway. Not the insoluble factor, but the actually pickling ingredients. Are they safe?

I'd love to hear how this turns out for anyone... I think the sweet would be fine since the mustard would be in there.

Hi Mags! If you can tolerate vinegar, the pickling solution for pickles will be just fine. In general, as long as you're eating them in reasonable amounts (like, not the whole jar at one sitting) with soluble fiber they're really tolerable.

Just FYI, I've made similar tartar sauces to this, and with white fish dipped in egg whites, then coated with bread crumbs or crushed FF Saltines or cornmeal, then baked, it's like old-fashioned fish sticks. Very yummy, and very much like what I loved as kid!

You know, I bet those 'fish sticks' could be used for a kid-friendly IBS meal too, like people had been looking for in the past. And, of course, I'm sure they're good for adults too!

I love dill relish. I used to use it for tarter sauce all the time. The relish is great on a turkey burger.

Do you think adding cream of tarter would help thicken it up? Or, do you think it will make it taste funny?

Cream of tartar has nothing to do with tartar sauce, so definitely do NOT add it!
