I was digging around through my Lebanese recipes, and found this. If you typically like milk in your tea, vanilla soy/rice milk would be tasty in this.
Finjan Erfeh
Spicy Hot Drink
4 cups water
1 tablespoon whole anise seeds
2 pieces ginger root, bruised
2 whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks
4 teaspoons sugar, or more to taste
4 walnuts or almonds
Boil spices in water until it is quite dark. Put sugar and one nut in each cup, pour hot drink over. Serves 4.

This sounds really good - I love spicy warm drinks. I bet it would be good with Fr. Vanilla Silk Creamer.
One question though - what does it mean to have bruised ginger?
Thanks!

Bruised ginger would be slightly crushed... not enough to break it up, but just enough to soften it a little... I imagine that's done to release more juices into the brew.

Fabulous! I love ginger, so anything to get more ginger juice is fine with me! Thank you, thank you!
