I starting drinking the powdered fiber product almost 4 weeks ago. No where on the canister or brochure states how much water to mix with the powder. I've been using about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of room temperature water. I just wanted to know for sure how much water to use?

After 10 years of no IBS problems, I started having problems the first of March 2015. This time with diarrhea, before it was always with constipation.

My first bout with IBS was in 1977, I was diagnosed with spastic colon, finally got it under control by 1980 with diet, Librax prescription. I had a few bouts off and on every few years or so, but nothing too bad, but always constipation.

In 1990, I had problems again, was diagnosed as IBS (I guess same as spastic colon) and was pt on Bentyl prescription, I got better soon.

I had a problem with it in 2008 and that is when I found this website. I started on prescription of Bentyl again, which I still continue to take daily.

Having diarrhea since March is new for me. So far since taking this fiber product, I'm still having diarrhea, but not as much as I had. Now usually every other day or so, instead of everyday.

I read in the info that it might take 3 to 4 weeks or more to see results when having diarrhea. I sure hope this helps.

The info # on canister can help you, I hope. "Some other forms" of soluble products could swell up in the throat that definately have to be taken with enough water for getting it down. You would start out at 1/2t 2x/day adding to that very gradually just enough to end diarrhea or constipation per instructions 1/2t/day (which would be 1/4t more 2x/day) every 4-5 days only to be sure. Other similar products say 6-8oz per Tablespoon, which is less than 3oz water at most for every 1/2t/1 1/2 oz for 1/4t appx. It has to be able to move through you with that water.
