Hello everyone! I used to be a regular here until a few years ago. I see a few familiar "faces" and a lot of new ones! I haven't looked over the boards in forever but I was doing some spring cleaning and found my IBS Audio Program 100 that I had ordered her from Heather MANY moons ago.

Its all there as far as I can tell, in the original package. I'm not sure if she is still using this program or what but thought maybe someone else could benefit from the cd's? I used the cds for about 3 months when I first got them.

I don't want anything in return, just trying to help someone who might not otherwise be able to try the cd's. I will stop back and check here but you can also reach me via email at s a r c s u c k s @ g m a i l. c o m, no spaces of course!

I will be happy to mail them anywhere in the US first class mail.

For the old timers, they finally figured out what was wrong with me, I have chronic, progressive sarcoidosis. Its in my heart, eyes, brain, lungs and lymph nodes that we know of. I already did over a years worth of steroids. Did all the immune suppressant drugs and TNF biological drugs as well. Remicade worked well for a while until the level built up in my system and nearly killed me. I just tried humira again and it made me seriously ill and weak. I stopped it after a month just a week or two ago.

There isn't much they can really do and they don't really know if these toxic drugs will even alter the course of things. I am treating myself with cannabis, I am off all the pain pills but do have to take medication for my heart.

I just recently decided that I am just going to see how much the disease progresses without the nasty drugs from the doctors. When they deem it necessary to get a pacemaker/defib implanted or the neuro sarc symptoms get too be too much, I will go to the Cleveland Clinic but until than, I am just hoping for the best!

Do you smoke the cannabis or eat it in brownies, etc.? If you eat it, does it cause problems with your ibs?

Cheers.

Hi Capricorn, I vaporize my cannabis, I take it in capsules my husband makes for me as well as eating it in foods, such as brownies. Sarcoidosis affects my lungs so its very important that i don't smoke it. Cannabis does NOT cause lung cancer however the by products of combustion used in the lighting of say a joint, can cause problems.

Here are two informational videos I made, which should explain a lot more to you.

part 2

Cannabis is approved in my state for the use in treatment for IBS. It is a smooth muscle relaxer. Smoking or vaping cannabis should only help your IBS.

Eating foods infused with cannabis or taking capsules could depend on a few more things. Cannabis is only soluble in fats or alcohol. Most people infuse butter or cooking oil with cannabis, than substitute the oil or butter that is called for in a recipe with the medicated oil/butter.

Here are the instructions that my husband wrote to making our cannabis capsules.

How to Make Activated CBD Capsules

Introduction
These capsules are very helpful for medical marijuana patients
Instructions
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You'll Need

* Coffee grinder used exclusively for cannabis
* Marijuana leaves/shake
* Cap-M-Quik capsule maker for Capsule Size 00
* Size 00 gelatin or vegetarian capsules
*OPTIONAL food processor
*OPTIONAL wire mesh collindar

Step One
1. Preheat oven to 220F in BAKE mode and let the temperature stabilize. It is important to make sure your oven is at the proper temperature before adding the cannabis.

WARNING: If the oven gets too hot, you will vaporize your cannabis, which removes the medicine, so keep it below 250F always. If you are not sure about your oven temperature, then you can put an oven thermometer in a dish and check.

2. Dry cannabis thoroughly before grinding – a paper bag works fine. A tip is to use leaf/trim/shake or immature/harsh bud for capsules and save good bud for vaporizing.

4. Remove stems and veins. These can cause stomach upset. Pulverize cannabis to dust in a coffee bean grinder used specifically for cannabis. You can put about .4 gram in a double 0 (00) capsule. Some think pulverizing to dust may improve digestion particularly in persons with irritable bowel or malabsorption problems.

5. Transfer the dust to an oven-worthy dish like a casserole dish with or without cover. Rake the cannabis dust with a fork to get it evenly distributed on the bottom of the dish to improve heat distribution.

Step Two
6. In the pre-heated to 220F oven, place the cannabis for 20 minutes. Sources say 10 minutes at 210 to 220F will decarboxylate or remove the carbon dioxide from the raw cannabis or leaf.

7. While the cannabis is activating, set up your capsule rack. I use one from www.cap-m-quik.com. They are sold at health food stores where natural herbal medicine is offered. The vegetarian capsules work fine because there is no oil. Some experience belching or bad aftertaste with capsules that contain oil.

Step Three
8. Be sure to allow the cannabis to cool thoroughly before putting into capsules. Make the capsules as directed by the instructions included in your capsule rack. Use the tamping tool and pack to raise the amount of cannabis contained in the 00 capsule from about .2 grams to .4 grams. The finer you grind the cannabis, the more you can pack into the capsule.

9. The ideal dose will depend on the quality of the cannabis. It is always easier to add more medicine than it is to take it out once you swallow it, so "start low and go slow". An average dose might be one or two capsules every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain or spasm. They work faster and better if taken on an empty stomach with a full glass of water.

If the cannabis is not ground up finely enough or if stems and leaf veins are including in the mixture, it could cause some tummy issues. Most people do not notice gi issues from the capsules but some people do say they cause a few days of extra pressure but most people say they actually help make them more regular!

I take about 4 capsules a day as well as one capsule at night that has Rick Simpsom Oil in it to fight my sarcoidosis. Google Rick Simpsom Run from the Cure, if you are interested, its pretty amazing stuff.

Hey Michele!! After many months of not posting, I stopped by this week, and you drop by too! It's great to see you! I think of you often and when any info comes on TV about sarco, i'm like, "I've got a friend who has that!"

How's the swelling in your hands? I went to a new doctor who's very nice. I hadn't been to a nice doctor who knew his s**t in a WHILE. Is your doctor playing ball with you? We need all the good docs we can get...

I hope things are managable(!!!) and that your tummy is behaving! I'm psyching myself up for a blood test at the mo. This is the last day I have insurance so I *have* to get it done today. It was supposed to be fasting, but I've already had to eat. Arg!

Hey nelly, how did that blood draw go yesterday?

Glad to hear you found a decent doc. I'm sort of in limbo right now. The swelling in my joints in much better but I have really bad small fiber neuropathy and the sarc is spreading. I'm barely managing 4 days a week at the office, luckily its a low stress low activity job for the most part or i would be fighting for disability right now.

Its likely I have had this a long time and is probably the reason for my IBS. Right now I am trying to ignore the reality that I need a pacemaker/defib. Other than that, there isn't much else they can do. My type of symptoms only react to the TNF inhibitor drugs which my body rejects and I refuse more steroids as my adrenal glands are already shot from the year I was on them.

You working? Still seeing the same guy?

Michele- so nice to hear from you again I'm not sure if you remember me, but I may have written to you before and asked if fungus could be implicated in your symptoms. I am a huge FUPO (fungus until proven otherwise) head. I have read while researching fungus that it can be implicated in sarcoidosis, and an antifungal program can actually help those with that disease.

Not sure if it is something you may want to investigate. Just putting it out there. Sorry you are not well. I have missed seeing you around here. Best to you....

Hi Michele! My heart goes out to you... there is nothing good about sarco. {{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}} Ugh steroids either. I'm enduring my 4th month of steroids for swelling in my back for the 2nd idiot who rear ended me within a year, and I'm going to tell my doc That's Enough at my next appointment. My quality of life's taken a bruising, and I'm dead set on cutting out any stressors I can identify!!

Still with my guy (15yrs!), and he's doing well enough that I quit actively persuing a job last year. It's awful not having money of my own, but I couldn't imagine the pain of sitting in a chair at work. Even driving hurts my back-- I see a pain specialist every 2 months, and he's a good doc and a fibro sympathizer, but I can't thak to him about my IBS pain. I'm always worried that people won't believe my IBS symptoms, or worse, order expensive tests which inevidably turn out negative.

I am keeping weight on! The immodium is working great!

{{{{{{{{{{BIG HUGS}}}}}}}}}} to you, and post here more often! I'm going to make the effort to come back more often. I always feel better when I do!

I don't know what that lady did to my arm, but I couldn't straighten it out for four days. I'm not a wimp, but damn. From inside my elbow to halfway up my armpit turned eggplant purple, and BF was referring to me as My Little Heroin Addict for a week. I planted a smile on my face and wore long-sleeved shirts, but the not-being-able-to-straighten-up-my-arm thing was a little distressing. And I'd been able to give myself sub-cu shots in my stomach and inter muscular shots in my thigh with only miniscule bruising.

I hate Quest Labs!!
