It is hard to leave co-workers that you become friends with. Of course you were liked and will be missed! I left my job of six years recently and amazingly I am keeping in touch with FIVE of them by email! And I miss them all too. It comes as a bit of a surprise as the job wasn't all that great but I didn't fully realize how lucky I was to have made some good friends there! And four months later some of them are way better and more interested in my life more so than people I considered good friends!
