I could have Crohn's

Two weeks ago I went to Tommy's GI doc to get my AD prescription refilled. He took some blood tests to test for Chrohns and Colitis. I figured there was no chance so I didn't worry about it.

Well I just got off the phone with him and he says I am testing positive for Chrohn's markers in my blood. He wants to do some x-rays. He says that my AD could be blocking my symptoms and that if I have mild Crohn's, I need to find out asap and start treating it before it gets worse.

HUH??? I feel fine though????

Hi Tina,

I'm sorry to hear this. Hopefully more tests will give you clearer results. They need a colonoscopy to give a clear diagnosis of either chrohn's or UC. I have had UC for the past 2.5 years and it's controlled by medication now.

Well, here's hoping that you don't have it! I'm sure that it's very possible to have the markers but not the disease, just as we've seen it is with lupus and other things.

In any case, it'll be better to know, right??? That way you prevent major damage!

Hugs! Keep us posted!

Sorry to hear this, Tina. But, it's better to find out now, before you have major symptoms, and get treatment started. I hope everything is okay for you.
Keep us posted,
Terri

I hope that you don't have Crohn's disease. Sending good thoughts your way.

Why does it seem that if you find out you have IBS it is only the tip of the iceberg? Other things seem to follow, not many on this board seem to have just IBS alone. Puzzling???

I'm hoping the markers are a "fluke" and you don't actually have Crohns. IBS is bad enough. What other tests are they going to go to rule it in/out? Hugs.

WOW! It's a real good thing that the doc caught it when he did! Remember, Sweetie, POSITIVE THINKING.....!

I'll keep you in my prayers.
