Hey.... time to get Dad some cologne for his birthday (which is also on Christmas Day)..... we have not bought cologne for him since my sister & I were still in high school....and he even kept the empty bottle.

He is in his late 50's and spends most of his day in a car and sometimes has people with him, so it should not be TOO strong of a scent or at least we have to remind him, just a little squirt...and not to bath in it!! LOL

What are some current not over powering scents out there?

My dad usually asks for Aspen. It's not too strong.

Every now and then, he even still asks for Old Spice!

My dad who is in his 50's wears Brute aftershave. It's not real strong and it smells good! I know it's not cologne but it has a lingering smell.

Gees, your dad is younger than me! OMG!

Well, as an old fart, let me recommend Old Spice. It may be the old "tried-and-true," but it's absolutely HEAVENLY. I've always loved it. In fact, when I was in high school they had an Old Spice for Women, and that's what I wore. It smelled fabulous.

Old Spice isn't heavy at all, not like "Canoe" or "English Leather" (although I did use to like "English Leather"). My hubby, who's 71, loves Old Spice, and I have a hard time keepin' my hands off him when he wears it.

Damn I'm feelin' old.....

My Dad has used Old Spice for over 40 years. A good standbard. It's not overpowering at all. Very mild.

My Dad wears (and I always buy him for xmas) Chanel Allure for Men. It's a *teeny* bit pricey but it's really nice and classy, definitely not overpowering. Really warm and masculine (kind of woody and spicy, I dunno how to describe scents! lol). But it's definitely not too "cologney" or strong/over-powering.
