Remember back last fall when I asked advice about trapping 3 street kittens? Well, I'm proud to say I've successfully trapped all 3 and taken them to the local Humane Society, where one of them has already been adopted and the other two will be soon, doubtless.
Next week the mother cat goes for her spay surgery too, and may even end up living with me.
I'm very happy to have been able to do this! It gives me a real sense of having accomplished a good thing for a fellow living being. (Make that three fellow living beings...)

I wish more people would do that.. I know a lot of people who do, but not nearly enough to take care of the kitty population.

Well, it did involve a lot of futzing around.
But the trap-sterilize-release system is really the only thing that's been proven to keep feral cat populations under control.
They're living beings, with whom I have a lot more in common than don't have in common. I just couldn't leave them out there to dodge cars, racoons, and dogs, and get knocked up once a year.

Yes, all three kittens are successfully in the adoption program, and mama cat (her name is "Sunday") is on day two of her new home with us... us meaning me, husband and 4 other cats.
Things are fairly quiet, no hissing, growling, or fights so far. She's under the bed sleeping, still recovering from her spay surgery, and all the other children are not TOO jealous or mad.
