Hello,
I recently got diagnosed with IBS. Although, I second guess that. The only symptom I have is that if I get stressed out, or my body gets stressed (ie if I have my period) I get severe abdominal pain. I can feel it coming and I just want to cry knowing what I will deal with for the next 3 days. The pain is tolerable the first day. Day 2 rolls around and I am just doubled over. It hurts to walk, breath, cough, sneeze, drive, etc. It's terrible. All I do is lay in bed and cry. By day 3 I am back to being able to tolerate the pain but it still hurts. By the 4th day I just feel sooooo sore. Like my intestines are bruised.. I have found no connection between what I eat and these attacks.. Just stress.. HELP?

Hello & Welcome -
I'm not on here very often, but tonight's insomnia lead me here!

You might want to repost your questions under the first category "Eating for IBS..." I think you will get more responses there.

Through what methods were you diagnosed with IBS... just a dr's diagnosis or testing, etc? Have you been to a GYN/OB to rule out anything like endometriosis?

I'm certainly not saying it's not IBS, but you usually have other symptoms like diarrhea/constipation/lots of bloating and gas. Is this also associated with any particular foods and do you have any other symptoms? Your description of just severe pain has me a little confused. Maybe make sure you have seen both a GI specialist as well as the GYN/OB...???

As a "victim" myself, I am never amazed at what stress/anxiety does to our bodies - the list of symptoms just grows.

If it helps, just know you are not alone. You would be amazed at the variety of symptoms the people on here have been through. And, they are very willing to share anything they have learned - and caring too.

So, try reposting under that heading and I bet you'll get lots of advice.

Until then...{{Hugs}} for better tomorrows.... Dorothy
