IBS-A for 20 years with terrible bloating and gas. On the diet since April 2004. Remember this from Heather's information pages:
"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!

Luna Bar

Crispix w/ rice milk
toast

hummus
corn tortillas
pureed mangos

Crispix - dry

Luna Bar

baked chicken boob (LOL -Kate!)
mashed potatoes w/ glazed shiitake mushrooms
steamed carrots
a spoonful of corn
a couple of black olives
small glass of white wine, which I was able to enjoy by following this advice from Heather:
How you drink as well as what you drink could make quite a difference here. A single glass of wine enjoyed after a high soluble fiber meal may be very tolerable for you, especially on an occasional (instead of daily) basis. Judging by reader feedback on this topic, white wine may be safer for IBS than red, and beer seems to be particularly problematic. Having a drink when you're feeling relaxed instead of harried can make a difference as well.

toast w/ tea

Goals: Gain 5 lbs by February (or at least not lose anymore weight) and stay on track with "IBS-safe" eating.

Slept until literally noon. So...

1 c. egg white frittata
with ZUCCHINI (great tip: shred/grate like you would for a loaf or muffins at hyper-speed in food processor!)
& CREMINI MUSHROOM crumbles
& SPINACH puree sauce (splashed with balsalmic vinegar)
garnished with LOTS of chives (love 'em lately) & dill

(this was too huge to eat for brunch, so I ate 1/2 the frittata & all the spinach sauce! yes, my eyes were bigger than my tummy! To eat the whole thing would have felt like eating a small pizza, seriously.)

The other 1/2 of the frittata
asparagus soup

1/2 c. chicken boob
cauliflower puree "faux-taters"
mixed greens (yes, a "salad") topped with
Portabella mushrooms
(Splash of balsalmic vinegar, lots of sea salt, fine herbs, and MORE chives!)

A bit of rice milk in Earl Grey tea.
At least 3 L of water, I'm sure!
Camomile tea & peppermint

Kate.

Hey guys!
Oy, not such a great day today! See my LR post about my crappy, hormonal day!
I slept until 11:30 today (day off work), so my whole schedule got all mucked about but here goes...

Exercise: 45 minutes on the elliptical, and 2 strength exercises, plus 40 minutes of this AWESOME workout DVD: Fat to Firm, Fitness Ball Workout For Dummies. I found it on amazon, here is a link if you wanna check it out: Ball Workout DVD

Breakfast: Oatmeal/oat bran, with no soy milk today as I ran out and couldn't be bothered to go to the store. 1 raw pear, which I had a MAJOR reaction to (still am, 10 hours later).

Snack: Almonds

Lunch: 4 periogies with 1 Tbsp of ICBINB.

Snack: Nilla Wafers and Light Cool Whip

Dinner: Very small serving of shepherds pie my mom made, made with ground beef.

Snack: Starbucks UFO that my Aunt Flo MADE me have!

Guilt over eating so much crap: Feels like about 10 lbs worth around my belly.

I feel like I really should go to bed to avoid eating any more, but it is also 8:30. Luckily (??) this throat thing got so much worse after eating my tiny amount of dinner that the thought of eating seems pretty impossible as I am having a really hard time swallowing at all, grrrrr.

See ya'll tomorrow!

Cheers,
--Stephie

not a terribly good day today but i'm forcing myself to start reporting in anyway like I promised!

SLEEP
bedtime last night? around 1:30
wakeup time today? around noon (eep! really need to get back on a normal schedule as classes start up again on monday)
total hours of sleep? 10.5 (but, oh, that's a beautiful thing )

FOOD
nothing really bad but just not nearly enough today. slept in and just kind of loafed about

pre-breakfast snack: BIG cup of eater's digest tea with acacia and echinacea, english muffin
breakfast: bowl of oatmeal with applesauce and cinnamon
snack: baked lays and hummus
snack: about a cup of applesauce and a few mints
dinner: (starving!) two helpings of stir-fry (rice, carrots and tofu)
snack: a few more mints

WATER
only about 4 cups... which is actually pretty good considering my recent record

EXERCISE
25 minutes of yoga

Alright... tomorrow will be better (hopefully!)
