I've noticed when I have gone to buy food...some products have the (U) symbol....others have the (U) D symbol.
For instance...the Heart Smart bisquick has this sumbol...which confuses me. The ingredients list NO dairy...there is a statement which claims the products has wheat ingredients...but nothing on dairy.
My quetion...does this mean the product is safe to eat?
It is very confusing when no dairy ingredients are mentioned by the (U) D symbol is on the front. There is also no reference to the product being made on equiptment shared with dairy.

Kosher categories are Meat (Fleishig in Yiddish, Basari in Hebrew), Dairy (Milchig in Yiddish, Chalavi in Hebrew) or neither meat or dairy (Pareve in Yiddish, Parve in Hebrew). According to Jewish Dietary Laws, meat and dairy food must be prepared and consumed separately, and pareve food can be eaten with either meat or dairy dishes.
Meat:
"Meat", "M" or "Glatt" printed near the kosher symbol on the food package indicates the product is kosher and contains some meat or meat derivative.
Dairy:
"Dairy" or "D" printed near the kosher symbol on the food package indicates the product is kosher and contains some milk or milk derivative.
Fish:
"F" printed near the kosher symbol on the food package indicates the product is kosher and contains fish ingredients.
Pareve:
"Pareve", "Parev", or "Parve" printed near the kosher symbol on the food package indicates the item is neither meat or dairy.
Passover:
"P" printed near the kosher symbol on the food package does not stand for pareve, but instead it means the product is kosher for Passover and all year round.
Furthermore, D-P means dairy and kosher for Passover and all year round. M-P or Glatt-P means meat and kosher for Passover and all year round. F-P means fish and kosher for Passover and all year round.

Since equipment is considered dairy if it touches dairy products- if the same equipment is used for a product with dairy and one without, then it is marked OU-D even if there is no possible cross contaminant except the same machine that was cleaned between uses..

So then why does this product have the U with D marking....when
1) no dairy ingredients are listed and
2) it says "contains wheat ingredients"
My question....is this safe to eat?
Take a look at the link.

U-D means it may have been made with a machine that is also used for diary in another production process and it has not undergone a ritualized cleaning process. The product contains wheat ingredients because it contains flour. The links you provide are to products that are IBS safe that don't contain dairy and do contain wheat .

So you're saying it's safe...the d is there just because of the equiptment?
