I seem to be having reflux a lot and it feels like its in the upper portion of my espophagus and that causes nausea BUT there is no acid.......no burning...etc ....is this GERD? Is this part of IBS? What helps......isnt this the sphincter valve(ie valve between esophagus and stomach?) malfunctioning ?

I would avoid huge amounts of peppermint tea - most people with GERD will tell you it can make things worse. Fennel or chamomile tea are probably your best bets. Also, make sure you're not lying down after meals, and even a short walk after eating can help immensely. Also, don't overeat. Try to eat smaller meals so that your stomach can digest the food easier, hopefully then not irritating your esophagus.
Hope this helps.
