Wonder why sushi--just California Roll and asparagus roll--cause me so much trouble. Could it be the little bit of wasabi? a few pieces of edemame?

I think it's more likely that it's the nori; especially if you haven't gone through the whole IBS diet process, and stabilized, the insoluble fiber could be problematic.

That's my best guess, though. Sushi is one of my safest foods!

I usually do okay with sushi, but they do make the rice with vinegar... maybe that has an effect? Did you have it with any soy sauce? I usually have it dry or only a tiny bit of soy sauce.

I love sushi and haven't had a problem with it. However, I call ahead and ask that it be prepared with no sesame seeds. Maybe it's the seeds?

The California rolls I'm used to seeing have cream cheese in them. Did yours? That would obviously be a no-no!

Sushi is definitely my safest "out for dinner" option!

Hmm, I have never had a California roll with cream cheese in it! That must be a variation. The ones I've eaten (from multiple places) have avacado, cucumber, and crab (I think this is usually imitation crab). Also sesame seeds on the outside.
