I am definately feeling better after 2 months on the diet. I am having trouble with the IF/SF balance. If I eat to much IF I am D, too little C. Is this common? Do I just keep experimenting to find the balance? It's just frustrating and wanted to make sure I am going through what others with C go through. Thank you for any input.

I have been on the diet about 2 months as well and I seem to do the same thing. I am IBS C but at times am a D after eating too much IF or something that doesnt agree with my system. I would love to know what the correct balance would be, but I think it is all trial by error because everyone is different. I need to add more IF back into my diet but everytime i do, it affects my stomach. What IF have you been eating?

I eat cooked spinach, skins on potatos, ground flax seed, peanut butter (1tsp), cooked celery and other cooked veggies. I also eat smoothies with berries.
Other types: Corn Chips, Oatmeal, Brown Rice
-Any that you have success with?

It's definitely trial and error, unfortunately, and what you're going through is something that a lot of us have. Look on the bright side: you're feeling better after 2 months! I didn't start feeling better till about 6 months in, and it took me well over a year to get my SF/IF balance right.

Hang in there!

I can eat cooked spinach, mushrooms and carrots...been strugling with the rest expecially broccoli. What is the flax seeds and how do you eat them? I can eat potatoes, brown rice and oatmeal and PB is fantastic! Its the fruits that I have been struggling to bring back in. All the berries and Apples bother me. I can eat bannanas in bread, but at the moment thats it. I think i am going to give some grapefruit and nectarines a try. Anything you suggest?

You can buy ground flax seeds at most supermarkets. I get them at Whole Foods and then ground them up myself using my magic bullet blender. I put it in my soy yogurt, on cereal with a banana, in smoothies, and even on pasta. It is pretty tolerable....especially if you can take peanut butter. Good luck. I know how frustrating it can be.

Are flax seeds IF? I have never really heard of them before.

Good Luck to you too!
