My only experience with mineral oil was an insane diet that my mom & I went on in the 60's where you uses mineral oil instead of olive oil for salad dressing. Let me tell you THAT was not a pleasant experience. Especially for one with IBS-D! I couldn't even laugh without having an accident. For constipation, it would probably work. It didn't cause cramps or anything, that was what was so bad about it for me - there were no warning signs. We only lasted one day on it. OMG, the things we do when we are young. It's a wonder we survive.

My mother used to give me that stuff all the time when I was younger and had chronic constipation. I haven't had the guts to try it since getting IBS because I'm not sure what it would do, either. I usually stick to a glycerin suppository when I'm really C because even stuff like Phillips MOM has bothered me.
