I have three different "digestive aid" teas and was wondering how many there really were so I began compiling a list and figured I'd post it here (I'm not procrastinating writing a paper, nooo...). If there are more out there please do post them--:

Stash Peppermint Tea (Oregon pepprmint leaves)

Celestial Seasonings Echinacea Complete Care (good for colds and your tummy too--Echinacea is also said to reduce mucus growth) (Peppermint leaves, licorice root, roasted chicory root, natural menthol extract, lavendar flowers, stevia leaves, and star anise).

Alvita Fennel Seed (no ingredients listed that I can find).

I'm quite impressed with the teas you listed--I've never even heard of some of them! How do you find the Yogi teas--do you enjoy them? Also, I've yet to try a ginger tea--any you specifically recommend? Thanks for the list--it's super! Have a great day--and get going on that paper you're not procrastinating from...

What's the paper on...I miss those days...?

You can buy the Yogi tea at Vitaminshoppe.com or go to Yogitea.com & you can get free samples! They are GREAT! I have both the ginger and the stomach ease. Also a good tea is Alvita Peppermint/Papaya. You can find that at health food stores. Tea is AWESOME! Works wonders!

Can anyone recommend an all-time favourite to start with? I've tried peppermint and couldn't really drink it (toothpaste taste!!!) but am getting bored with water, water, water....
I don't have easy access to a good health food store - half an hour's drive away - but the supermarket do the usual fruit teas, camomile etc

A digestive tea is usually a good start as it has alot of the different things recommended in it ( licorice, fennel, peppermint, papaya, ginger, etc.) There is one from Traditional Medicinals and Yogi Tea that are both very good. The trick is to let hem steep, COVERED, for about 5 or 10 mins so you get the full effect. Enjoy!

TL - isn't is expensive to buy the teas in bags? It's much cheaper buying it by the pound at health food stores, but I don't know if they have the selection you're used to.

Both ginger teas that I have are quite spicy (my mom bought them for me) and when they're gone, I think I'll stick to the mint or fennel flavored teas. But candied ginger does work against nausea--my family has always used it--we've not had a bottle of Pepto-Bismol in the house ever.

As for the paper, it's a maximum of 6 pages on the relative ease of life in hunter-gatherer societies (we have to refute an ignorant editorial that ran in a local paper). It was due on Tuesday and I've GOT to get it done tonight or I can't work tomorrow--and I REALLY need the money.

I can't wait to be done with school!!!

TessLouise,

Good luck with the paper! I actually miss writing papers (I was an English major)...but taking tests I can do without!

I bought the Celestial Seasonings Honey Peach Ginger tea today--and I agree, it's spicy! I'm interested in candied ginger--what is that and how/where do you get it?

I hope your paper goes really well...if you want an editor let me know
