A long time ago I asked about groat oats. I bought them at the HFS and didn't know what to do with them. Well today, as I am home with a cold, I took 1/2c oats (looks like horse oats) and 3 cups water and simmered until it was thick and gooey. I let it sit to thicken some more (could use slightly less water) and had it with raisins, turbinado sugar and cinnamon and margarine. YUM! Very nice meal when sick. They simmered for an hour or so.

"You absolutely must eat insoluble fiber foods, and as much as safely possible, but within the IBS dietary guidelines. Treat insoluble fiber foods with suitable caution, and you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of them, in very healthy quantities, without problem." Please eat IF foods!
