For all you preggo girls that are showing me beautiful pics recently of your babies. What Prenatal vitamin agreed with your IBS. I am IBS C so she gave me one with a stool softner. I want to start taking one this weekend since we are TTC next week. The sooner the better I know. I would have liked to take it 3 months ago but my IBS was so crazy everything bothered me. And last time I tried them I puked (TMI sorry) them up. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated

I am also a c. And I had surgery for rectal prolapse last year. So I do NOT want to undo my surgery. So when I was ttc I just took a chewable multivitamin (Viactiv). It doesn't have any iron. I want to avoid that since it can cause c. I told my fertility specialist and my OB up front. They both said it was fine. And I have my iron level checked regularly. Tomorrow I'll be 21w along. And my iron levels are still normal. So for now my regular multivitamin still works. I also take extra folic acid with it (1,000mg)...that's a Rx I got from my doc since the mv doesn't have enough of it. HTH. Good luck ttc.

I am 15 weeks pregnant right now and am taking Prenate Elite. I'm IBS-D, so I am not sure how they would affect c'ers. The first vitamins I took made me D, so I switched. The Prenate Elite make me a little nauseas so I take them at night. Hope that helps. Good luck!

Thanks Mary for getting back to me. I am going to get them them today at CVS. My only concern is they are made with Nonfat milk. Does that bother you? I am going to call my OB today and get a script of folic acid.

I checked out there website and they have a "flavor glide" one to that has 18mg of Iron. I think this is the one Flipada used?? It has calicum carbonate and Magnesium Citrate which should balance the C. OY!! all this worrying about a vitamin just to have a baby..LOL

I don't follow the IBS diet anymore since I had my rectal prolapse surgery...I don't have IBS, and I can eat anything. So I don't worry about the ingredients in the vitamins. But if you are going to try them I'd say get a small pack...I think they make travel packs. And see how you do. It is a very small amount of dairy. But it depends how sensitive your tummy is. Good luck.

I talked to my pharmacist and he reccommended thse because they have Entric coated (like heather tummy tamers). But it has 29mg of iron but he said it was Ferrous Bisglycinate (iron aid)?? whatever that is? I also noticed the first ingredients is ACADIA, do you think that is EFI SFS? It also has Casein but I am sure small amounts.

I think that is what my doc had given me initially. Since I'm a D, it gave me D. It might work well for you.

Good luck!

I dunno. You sure could give it a try. Have you ever tried taking Acacia as a fiber supplement? I mean, if it was constipating, you could also take the acacia...
