Hi all,

I know we did this a while back, but we have new faces and there are always new products out there so I thought I'd start it up again as I am at a bit of a loss for some products:

1) Best Cream to prevent aging (wrinkles). I remember someone saying you should start using it in your twenties, and my mom and grandma have really bad skin that way, but I have no idea what to use as a preventative (I'm 22, I have super sensitive skin).

2) Best cream for stretch marks. Since gaining all this weight, I have my first stretch marks, boooo. Anyway, they are pretty bad so I wanna try something to make them less noticeable.

3) Best anti-cellulite cream. Yeah, I have it. Real bad. It sucks.

4) Best 'tan in a bottle'. There are so many now it is hard to know which ones will look natural, and which ones will make you look like an orange zebra.

Those are the ones I am wondering about, here are some things that I personally love..

1) Favourite hair conditioner: RedKen AllSoft conditioner - it's so amazing. And "FastFood" by AG leave in conditioner, it smells DIVINE!
2) Favourite shampoo: Aveda "scalp benefits" shampoo
3) Favourite (not expensive) moisturizer for sensitive skin: Complex 15 for face and Lubriderm Seriously Sensitive Lotion.
4) Favourite body cream: Body Shop Shea Cocoa Butter cream, it's awesome.
5) Favourite lip stuff: Juicy tubes(lancome?) and I like that GlamShine stuff.
6) Favourite scent: I hate strong perfumes, they make me feel sick. I like Victoria's Secret "Love Spell"

Hmm, I can't think of anymore right now so if you want to add anything you really like, please do so!

Cheers all!!

Hmmm...changes all the time. I have hyper-sensitive skin, etc. (as well as some cruelty issues) and usually find something divine at the HFS. I've been just loving this "Ultra Hydrating Dry Skin Moisturizer" by "Nature's Gate." I guess that's my product 'highlight' of late. It's got some neat things in it--including coffee!

For stuff like stretch marks/cellulite, I highly recommend COLLIDAL SILICA GEL--no joke. Aloe is good too, but only externally.

There's a ton of really good bee products and hemp products out there as well.

I love baby shampoo. If my scalp is dry, I apply olive oil topically--sometimes safflower oil. (Hemp is a little pricey for a scalp rub!) Apple cider vinegar is probably my all time favourite conditioner.

Re: mainstream product lines--ONLY MARCELLE!

This is a neat question--due to my low self-esteem/GAD shopping phobia, I've only been recently enjoying and treating myself to 'beauty stuff.' It's so much fun pampering the physical beast.

Kate.

I don't have recommendations for most of the first, but as for the stretch marks: cocoa butter, straight up. You can get it really cheap in drugstores. And try to catch those marks before they turn silvery, like scars - once they do that, it's next to impossible to find anything that works on them, I've found.

My favorite shampoo and condition will ALWAYS be BedHead. Good stuff, and smells divine.

For the rest of the stuff, I'm totally all about drugstore beauty. LOL No fancy stuff for me. The ONLY moisturizer I use is a not-expensive one: Neutrogena for combination skin. It's the only one I've found that won't make me break out. Although I do also use CG Smoothers, which is a tinted moisturizer-sunscreen all in one (instead of foundation), and that doesn't make me pimply either.

Favorite lip stuff: Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers. I rotate through Merlot, Rhubarb, and Watermelon, depending on my mood.

Favorite scent is clinique's Happy. That's the only one I've worn for years now, and it's the only one I'll continue to use... most other perfumes are too strong and actually make me queasy.

Anything by Burt's Bees, hands down. I love their stuff, and it smells so good. And it doesn't have a bunch of icky chemicals in it. I got turned on to their stuff when looking for a toothpaste without sorbitol and sls (sodium lauryl sulfate, it's the stuff that makes it foam), and their toothpaste was the only one I found that didn't have either. The no sls is to help ward off mouth sores, which I'm prone to.

Anyways, I'm all about their lotions and face stuff. Haven't tried their shampoo bar yet....sticking to the Pantene 2 in 1 for now, but want something that's better for me (less chemical wise) next time I need shampoo.

Well, I could go on forever, since I love beauty products!

On my face I use prescription cleanser, and Differin gel, but for moisturizer I use Cetaphil (per dermatologist's rec.). Also use Cetaphil soap in the shower. When I want something that smells good, I use Nature's Gate Chamomile and Lemon Verbena---yum!
Shampoo/Conditioner---I buy the big sizes, and usually get Kiwi or Paul Mitchell. Also use Kiwi and Bedhead products. I try all different kinds of hair stuff all the time.

Body lotion--aveeno. Doesn't irritate my skin, works pretty good. Wish it was cheaper!

Haven't done much for strech marks yet, but I've always heard straight cocoa butter for that.

Oh--makeup! Hmm..I like MAC powder and eye shadows, revlon mascara, OPI nail polish...

I'm all about Nutrogena skin products and I've recently gotten in Mac makeup, love it!!

The nutrogena conbination skin moisturizer, as Casey mentioned, its great!! I also use there Acne wash for my facial cleanser. Its like $3.97 at Target, its the orange stuff in the pump bottle, works great! They have a chemical mask that I use once or twice a week, it works wonders!! After two weeks of using it twice a week, I noticed a big reduction in pimples and blackheads and my skin was smooth and silky!! They also have a cream that you can put on at night, I think its a rentol cream, thats supposed to help break outs AND fight wrinkles! I've just started using it! If you need a little more intense moitsurizer, the over night cream is really good! I use it if I've been out in the sun or if the hormones I'm on start to dry me out too much!

Shampoos vary. Right now I'm like a moisturizing shampoo but Infussium. Got it at Target for like $6.00!!

Self tanners, I like the nutrogena "build a tan." Just a note for those of you trying to get pregnant, don't use self tanners!! I thought they would be fine to use until me RE told me NO!!!

As I mentioned, I'm just getting into Mac makeup!! I have a girlfriend who is a Mac fanactic and we went to the Mac counter a couple of weeks ago! I bought a great blush, three eye shadows and one of the "permanent" lip sticks! The makeup is very creamy and soft and goes on like silk! The lipstick stays on all day and doesn't feel cakey at all, unlike some of the drug store ones I've tried! I'm sure I'll be going back and buying more very soon!

Well, great in some ways... Not so great in the fact that now i have a whole list of things I want to go out and buy, hee hee!
I will definitely go out and get some cocoa butter from the drug store.. My stretch marks are red still, so maybe I can try and fix 'em, at least a little bit.
Thanks again!

Hey Pretty Lady,

I too have VERY sensitive skin. Oy. The only thing I've ever used on my face since I was a teenager is Noxzema. I still use it every day. 50 YEARS of this stuff! It's GREAT! I use the cream to wash with, then I use the Astringent at the end of the day, to wash off the day's grit and grime. It leaves a real clean feeling without drying the skin. Nothing else on my face, no way. No makeup either. Never used it, never WILL. Clogs the pores.

Anti-cellulite cream? Have you heard what the "pros" have to say about this stuff? It's a joke.

The only "lip stuff" I use is tinted Chap-stick. No lipstick, ew.

I too hate heavy perfumes. My very fave of all time is Oscar. It has a clean smell, very soft. Not to be confused with his new fragrance, "delaRenta," the original "Oscar" is the BEST!

Now here's a test to see how old everyone is: How many of us remember the fabulous fragrance we used to buy at the Dime Store called, "Evening in Paris"? I LOVED that stuff!

Suave body lotion and I add some extra virgin olive oil to it.

Extra Virgin Olive oil under eyes at bedtime and under makeup.

Physicians Formula yellow tint base for under eye circles.

Loreal sensitive skin toner.

Pantene smooth & sleek shampoo & conditioner.

I haven't really found a perfume I like because I am very sensitive to smells. But, since so many of you seem to be, too, I will have to try some of your suggestions.
