Hi LS,

I went for one a few years back and it really wasn't that uncomfortable at all. The technician was really nice, I wasn't bruised or sore at all (I'm a 34C).

You should really make the appointment and go, it is really very important to have checked. Good Luck.

I know it's important and I'm going to go, I just want to make sure I don't get three days of soreness again. This is about the 6th or 7th one I've had and only one of the 7 hurt that bad. But now that I have the pain amplification from fibro, I'm a litle nervous.

How you surviving the heat today, Barbara from NY??!!

I am not a summer girl. Give me the good old spring and fall any day. I feel like I'm melting as soon as I go down into that subway. Oh just to have those 6 lucky numbers and I can stay home!

Honey, it's not bad at all. Really. I'm not pulling your leg. Would I do that to you? It's just SUCH a piece of cake! Just envision a little rough sex....

Bevvy, I've had them plenty of times before, I know what they're like. But with fibro, it would be like rough sex while you have the worst flu you've ever had in your life. Does THAT sound like fun????

Now I need some real suggestions, like local anesthetics or codeine or WHAT??? I can't do this without something to turn down the pain volume. (Yeah, I'll call the doctor's office and ask them too)

BTW all you younger girls, Bevvy's right, it's no big deal. I don't want to put you off mammograms when the time comes. They are VERY important and CANNOT be skipped. You MUST get them, just like Pap smears and dental cleanings. They are part of taking care of the temple God gave us for our souls to live in.

You know, I'm such an inconsiderate JERK sometimes. I know you have fibro, and I have an idea what it's like (but no one can really KNOW what it's like unless they have it). The thing is, you're so wild and crazy and fun and -- well, I just forget sometimes that you hurt.

Please forgive me.

I need to help you somehow, and I just don't know how. Um, uh, while this is not really a good suggestion normally, and I don't know how this would affect your fibro, but in all seriousness, could you tolerate just a shot of JD? Just a little bolt before you walk in the door there? (Be sure to take a mint with it; otherwise, you'll breathe on everyone there and blow 'em all away.)

Something else that might work for you is Tylenol PM. It REALLY relaxes me BIG time. Of course, it might make you fall asleep, so you wouldn't wanna drive by yourself. Have someone take you. Oh, and if you try the PM, be sure to take it about an hour beforehand (that's how long it takes to "kick in.") Last, but not least (although the most dangerous) would be some Vicodin. Do you have any? It's a fabulous pain killer, but VERRRRY addictive. You could pop one just before the appointment.

I'm sorry, LauraSue, Girlfriend, please, PLEASE forgive me.

Hmmmm.... rough sex while I have the worst flu? Lets see, worst flu in one hand, balancing with the rough sex in the other ..... hmmm.....?

Say you still love me. Maybe I just need to be punished?

Laura Sue, it has never occured to me to take something before the mammo. Take something you can tolerate, I need to schedule mine also. It always hurts me, but I dont recall being in pain for days, it has been several years for me, next time Tylenol.

I really think your mammo will come out just fine, you deserve it !!! gayla
