Sigh...

I posted a few days ago on the hypno board saying i was seeing some postive changes. But I almost feel that thinking and writing positively about my IBS jinxes me - the symptoms come back, almost as if my body is saying 'ha ha, thought you were getting better? No you're not!' I had a bad time after eating yesterday evening and during the night and then the D and pain are back this morning. I think one problem is that when things start to get better, i get optimistic and thus less careful about how i eat (I ate a rissotto with tomatoey sauce and broccoli last night). I also wonder if your body position when you eat makes a difference - I was sitting sort of scrunched up on my bed watching a DVD after eating and maybe that was part of the problem? Anyone got any thoughts? I guess I just have to try to stay positive and see this as a blip in my progress...

Charlotte,
Marilyn will address this for you, if you post this on the hypno board. She does address this in some of her posts. Do a search and read some of the old threads. Also, reread your booklet, as it addresses it somewhat. You may want to relisten to the intro CD. If I remember correctly, it also addresses this situation. HTH

Thanks for your help Osbo54. You're right, i remember there is something in the booklet about how the symptoms might come back but you shouldn't assume this is a permanent return of the IBS. I will reread it to try and reassure myself. In the meantime i am having a 'white rice day' and trying to stabilise again.
