I love Sorbet and have heard that it is not dairy food. Does anyone know if it's ok to eat on our IBS diet? If it's a no-no I don't want to start a problem.
Thanks,
Marilla

Yes, sorbets should be ok. I think all sorbets are non-dairy but I recommend that you always make sure of that when you buy sorbet.

Even if you have a sorbet that doesn't contain any triggers you should still eat a small portion and eat slowly since eating cold stuff fast can cause problems.

I can usually eat sorbet, but if my stomach has been touchy I stay away from it, as foods that are cold and/or somewhat acidic can make things worse. If you have been pretty stable and don't have an empty stomach, though, try it out! Dairy free, usually low fat (check to make sure), and sooooo good.

They are generally ok. Just read the label. A lot of them have HFCS and some of the coconut sorbets have dairy.. Also, you may find a safe flavor in one brand, but other flavors in that brand may not be ok.

Sorbets are fine for me. But make sure you don't get mixed up with Sherbet. That DOES have dairy. Ouch!

I love the sorbet I found this summer. I can't handle too much cold stuff so instead of a bowl, I buy ice-cream cones and that way too I limit my quantity. It's a huge treat for me! My DH loves ice-cream - I get jealous - so now I have my sorbet to fill the void!

Best of luck with it!

I love Sorbet. I got hooked on one in Hawaii and in Las Vegas. Ben and Jerry's Mango/Lime. Haven't been able to find it in any stores here in Sacramento, CA.
